At the Fence: Abuse Issues

ironff-l.gif (5196 bytes)

a Dear At the Fence:

I feel like a prisoner. I let myself get captured. I have been here for almost 18 years. At first I thought there was nothing more wonderful than being with him. Now I can't stop thinking about ending my pain of loneliness, abuse, control, and depression by giving up. I have nothing. No car, no money, no friends and not much strength to help myself.  Please advise.

Giving Up

Dear Giving Up:

If you are talking about suicide, don't do it.

You had the strength to write this letter. You can do more. Don't let your abuser win. Some abusers want nothing more than to wear down their victim.

Get help immediately. There are people out there who know how to help, but you have to make the first move. Call 1-800-799-7233 for the number of a place in your area that can help. Call them, talk to them and listen to what they say.

God Bless
